Iakovos Arapakis specialises in the field of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck surgery. He has been working at the St. Luke’s Hospital in Thessaloniki since 2011. He has many years of experience in endoscopic sinus surgery, facial plastic surgery, microsurgery of the ear, tumour surgery of face and neck and reconstructive surgery of trauma in midface and skull base. After graduating from the Medical Faculty of the Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg in Germany, he completed his residency at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery of the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg in Germany. He has 15 years of clinical training and postgraduate training in specialised ENT centres in Germany. He obtained his doctor degree at the Medical Faculty of Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg since 1998. He retrained in microsurgery of the ear under the world-renowned Professor Laszig at the ENT University Hospital in Freiburg and in tumour surgery of the head and neck under the internationally renowned Professor Hagen at the ENT Hospital of Katharinenhospital Stuttgart. He holds the subspecialty titles "Facial Plastic Surgery", "Special Head and Neck surgery" and "Allergology" after passing the Board examinations of the Baden-Württemberg Medical Boards in Germany. The physician has published scientific papers in international ENT journals, has presented lectures in congresses at home and abroad and has organised congresses and seminars. He has attended a series of training seminars in special ENT surgery at world-renowned centres (Zurich – Professor Fisch, Professor Simmen, Graz – Professor Stammberger, Milano – Professor Palma).
